Take a Leap of Faith

If there is one thing we enjoy as humans, it is the power to control whatever happens to us. Businessmen enjoy the power to control how their business is run. Managers enjoy the power to control the teams they work with. As human beings, we do not like the factor of uncertainty, which unfortunately is a part of everyday life.

Uncertainty is a powerful emotion that works hand-in-hand with fear to keep you from taking that next step. Many times, we attribute the uncertainty to future negative outcomes. People often say “what if I get out there and it does not work out? Well, what if it does?! What if this new guy or girl is the one? What if this job is what makes you the next big thing? What if this move is all you need to find yourself again? What if this new adventure gives life new meaning for you? Stop attributing your uncertainty to negativity. Stop seeking out the negative outcomes instead of the positive ones. Take a leap of faith.

Today, I want to encourage you to take a leap of faith. Take that new job and gain the experience you’ve always wanted. Pack your stuff and move to that new place you’ve always wanted to go. Move to that city you’ve never been to. Study a new course, go a different route. It’s not too late to start all over. Oh yes, the results are uncertain. Don’t let fear hold you back. Take a leap of faith! It’s the first step towards greatness. Understand this: A leap of faith hardly ever leads to a dead end. More often than not, a leap of faith leads to many open doors. A leap of faith launches you out of your comfort zone (aka mediocrity) to places you never thought you could reach.
